Blessings from the bedridden

I am laying on the chaise lounge under a quilt, hair pulled up, looking pathetic; and thinking about blessings.  I think it is time to count my blessings - it has been too long and I have so much to be thankful for.  So, here goes.  A list of ways God has blessed me lately:

1. Open Doors.

2. Closed Doors.

3. A boss who believes in me more than I believe in myself.

4. Insight into scripture - far beyond my own ability.

5. A son who just walked thru the living room, kissed me on the cheek, told me he hopes I feel better, and said "See You Later Senorita" as he walked out the door.

6. A husband who asks, "How can I serve you?" and really wants to hear the answer.

7. Miss Lisa, who is living with us while she finishes up her last semester of college, and whose giggle coming from her bedroom upstairs - makes me smile without fail.

8. My parents, who are with the IMB in Indonesia - showing me by example that there are more exciting and purposeful things to do in your retirement years than play golf and drive around in an RV (although, I bet they'll do that eventually too!).

9. My newest friend, Sarah, who is just as precious as can be and who I admire more and more with each passing day.

10. My old buddy, Katie, who is serving the Lord in Reno alongside her husband and who is such an encouragement to me.

11.  My church - growing, growing growing.  How soon before the community rec center won't hold us any more?  What a blessed day that will be!

12. Indoor plumbing and my own washer and dryer (versus the not so fun alternative of the laundromat)!  Seriously - I am so blessed by this.

13. Opportunities to be a blessing to others - the Bunko group in my neighborhood, small group Bible study, my job, discipling other women, and others that God has yet to show me!

14. Two well behaved dogs.  Seriously - I take for granted that they aren't constantly digging holes, chewing things up, or escaping for neighborhood romps!  Love you Trixie and Abby!

15. Answered prayers.

There are more than these... but I am needing to lie down and rest for a bit.  Thank you God for everything - even when I am feeling kind of puny.  You are the giver of all good things and I love you.
